10 Excuses You Must Drop To Live a Meaningful Life

This article was last updated on December 29, 2015

You can have excuses or results. Not both.

The principle is really simple, yet we continue to use excuses. So why are we all falling in the trap? Because it’s easier to have an excuse than to achieve something and most people prefer the easy way out.

Whether it’s cleaning your house, fixing your career, improving your relationships, getting more money or living the life of your dreams – every aspect of our life requires us to take action, and although all these allocations demand us to take a different approach, they all seem to be hindered by the same excuses.

Here are some of the most common excuses that you need to drop from your life.

1) “I’m too busy.”

This is complete nonsense. In this world everybody is busy. If you really want something you will make time for it no matter what, if not you will just find an excuse.

On the flip side you might want re-evaluate your relationship with people that are constantly busy for you, so get rid of them and surround yourself with people that care about you. Because if they can’t find time for you, they don’t think that you are important.

2) “I can’t do it anyway.”

Well, I couldn’t write articles at first as well nor create videos, yet now my articles get read by millions of people every year and my videos currently have more than 30 000 000 views and the numbers just keep growing.

And guys, I didn’t even know what a domain is, but I still decided to try and in the end everything worked out fine.

Speaking from my experience – You totally can do it. I mean it, I believe it and I know it. Now you just have to make a leap of faith and simply take the first step.

3) “I’ll do it tomorrow.”

Never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today.” – Benjamin Franklin

Procrastination is dangerous, probably the most common excuse in the world and that’s a scary thought. When you say that you will do it tomorrow, a big problem arises – what’s stopping you from saying the same thing tomorrow as well? That’s right, nothing.

The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is now. – Proverb

There is no such thing as tomorrow. Tomorrow doesn’t exist, the only time that you have at your disposal is the present.

If you are experiencing problems with procrastination here is a detailed guide on how to deal with it.

4) “I don’t have the resources.”

How can you even say that? We are living in the era of internet. You can find everything you need in Google. All the information you need is out there waiting you to discover it.  I didn’t have any resources at all as well, the heck, even my English wasn’t good enough, but I had Google, and that’s all that mattered.

I don’t even want to write about that excuse, because for me this excuse is non-existent.

So let me wrap it up for you – you have the resources, you just need to learn how to use them.

5) “I am not good enough.”

Who said that? Your friends? Your family? Guess what, that’s jack shit.

What I mean is that this is absolute rubbish.

Everybody is constantly learning. Period.

You will never know how good you are unless you go out there on the arena and see it for yourself.

So just go head on, give everything you have and then you will know how good you are and believe me you will surprise yourself.

6) “I don’t have any luck.”

Let me prove you wrong – You are lucky, you are alive and the odds of that happening are basically 0. Check out this amazing infographic, if you don’t believe me.

Psychologist Richard Wiseman, author of “The Luck Factor” has extensively studied the concept of luck. In one of his studies Wiseman recruited 700 subjects some of which perceived themselves as lucky while others as unlucky.
The “lucky” group believed to be twice as likely to win the lottery when compared to the “unlucky” group. In reality, there was no difference in winning between the two groups. Read more about this study and his other studies here.If you repeat every day that you are lucky, eventually you will convince your mind to believe in that concept and actually this way you will take more advantage of the positive opportunities that you are presented with.

7) “I am too young or too old.”

That’s a bullshit excuse. You are never too old or too young. Find it hard to believe? Watch this.

Age is just numbers. When you discover your life purpose these numbers don’t matter at all. So find out what you want and forget about how many candles you have on your cake.

8) “No one is there to help me. I shouldn’t do it without help.”

You know on our Facebook page I get a lot of messages where people ask me to share their page – guess what I refuse all the time. So why do I that? I am willing to help them, but they are not asking the right way.

If you ask for help without any will of your own to do the work, nobody will care – well, I don’t. Worse, if you expect the help to magically come, you’re in for a huge disappointment.

Don’t get me wrong, when I was starting out two years ago I was doing the same thing with 0% success rate, and that helped me learn a very valuable lesson – Before asking others for help, show them how you will help them in the first place. It’s really simple, but this was a game-changer for me.

So if you are willing to do the work, help will come along the way and this gets me to the next excuse..

9) “It’s too much work.”

Yeah, nothing worth having in life comes easy.  And the only place where success comes before work is the dictionary.

“Good things come to those who work their asses off and never give up.” – Unknown

You want to have a better life, better career or improve your relationship? Then you will need to put some effort and you will have to go through some failures and setbacks but they will allow you to grow.

10) “What if I don’t make it?”

Well at least you tried, there is nothing scarier than regretting what you could’ve done. And we will eventually reach that point in life, where we regret everything we didn’t do while we had the chance to do it.

So go to the arena, give it all you’ve got and if you fail, you will gain experience and knowledge that will help you later in life.

In conclusion:

Anything is possible, but you have to stop looking for excuses and instead focus on all the reasons why you must make it happen.

Understand that nobody cares about your excuses – your friends and family don’t, your partner doesn’t, in fact I don’t care about your excuses as well.

Excuses will just harm you and if you came here today to read this article, it means it’s time to take action and change your life.
